When it comes to clothing, you should look
like the rest of the interviewees; this is one
place were looking apart will hurt you rather
than help you. Dress conservatively. You need a
clean and well-tailored suit (make sure it fits
you well). The color should be dark. Get a nice
plain white or light blue shirt. Wear a
conservative tie. You probably have all these
items; if you don't, do not spend a fortune
buying them. You don't need expensive clothing;
you need clean and conservative clothing!
Make sure your shoes are clean and your socks
are dark and have no holes! Simply put, you
should look like every one else at the interview.
If you stand out with your red three-piece suit
and diamond earrings, you may decrease your
chances of getting in. Limit all jewelry to your
watch and wedding ring. Keep you hair short. Stay
away from bow ties or any other eccentric,
unusual items.
Women should also wear conservative clothing;
a skirted suit is appropriate. The same advice
holds true for women; keep your clothing simple,
neat and clean. Do not wear too much jewelry; use
minimal makeup. The color of your clothing should
be conservative.
